LACK of regular physical activity in people with arthritis is one of the main factors related to their functional decline, an American study shows. The survey of nearly 6000 people aged 65 or older with arthritis found being inactive was among the strongest predictors of functional decline, approximately doubling the odds of reduced function. Women in particular were more likely than men to be inactive, to experience functional decline and to be limited in basic activities of daily living
