I’ve suffered from migraines since I was a teenager, as I got to my mid-twenties, they became chronic and severe with pain that would last for days, keeping a diary I discovered I spent 70% of my life with a migraine.

I found it difficult to manage my full time career, always taking sick days, coming in late and leaving early. I had no social life, lost many friends and was alone as any free time was for being in pain or recovering attempting to do normal things like going to work. I was unable to seek rescue in traditional migraine medication as I learnt I was allergic and I was against other methods that seemed extreme and not sustainable.

I experimented with meditation, L-Theanine, Low Dose Naltrexone, and other methods to improve stress and sleep. Trial and error continued for a few months.

I learnt that magnesium glycinate was the right type of magnesium for my body and recently I added capsules of PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide) to my treatment plan.

After two and half months I have 50% improvement in my migraines. I became a punctual employee, I gained a social life again and I even began dating and thinking about all regular life things that someone in their late 20s would be considering.

I still get migraines that are less severe and I can recover quickly. But I am now living life again, and make plans to live rather than worrying when a migraine may hit. The goal is to see if I can further improve and after feeling like “I had tried everything” I’m confident in this natural approach that will be sustainable over the course of my life.
